Taygetos is a relatively narrow mountain range with a long ridge, reaching 115 kilometres in length and 30 kilometres in width, covering a total area of 2,500 kilometres.

In the municipality of Voufrados, 25km from Messini, you will find the canyon of Polilimnio, a complex of many lakes, which due to the rough terrain form Lakes and waterfalls.
